Britains only National Museum dedicated solely to Aviation, the Royal Air Force Museum is a wonderful visitor experience for all ages. Not a dry and dusty
collection of remote objects, visitors come face to face with carefully preserved aircraft and fascinating displays and exhibitions.
Visitors are encouraged
to experiment with interactive exhibits in our fun ˜fight Gallery. An upper floor allows you to overlook the entire Main Aircraft Hall in all its glory and
specially constructed platforms enable you to get up close to the aircraft.
The Museum is situated on the site of the original London Aerodrome, used for the great Hendon Airshows between the two World Wards. Three mammoth buildings
contain over 70 aircraft, artefacts, aviation memorabilia and photographs covering the history of aviation from early balloon flights to the latest jet fighters.
You can enjoy a thrilling ride with the Red Arrows in our flight simulator or
experience the sound and light show Our Finest Hour bringing to life the reality of the
Battle of Britain. There is even a chance to sit in a real cockpit, the jet Provost or walk through the might Sunderland Flying Boat.
Facilities include an extensive gift shop, licensed family restaurant, cafe and outdoor picnic area, baby changing room and full disabled access.
ADMISSION IS FREE! Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
